To start with, happy holidays of your choice or just have a pleasant time as the days grow shorter and then (presumably) longer again.
I’m starting to get a clearer idea of what I’m gonna do next with this here blog. Plans are in motion, preparations are underfoot, schemes are being hatched. More about that later, probably, but there’s a couple of things that I wanted to tell you about now.
First, You might have noticed that I’m doing some reorganizing. I’m making good progress (the idioms posts are now in fairly decent shape, I think), but it’ll take a while yet. Ideally you will not notice anything at all about this until suddenly things are better, but odds are I’ll probably screw up here or there. Sorry about that. If you notice any broken links or other problems, please tell me and I’ll try to fix it.
Second, I’ve decided I’ll try to work my way through all four books of the 1000 Chinese Foundation Characters. However, one issue with that is that it would result in a greater number of posts, that would only be of interest for someonewho’s actively learning Chinese, than I’m comfortable with.
So to provide some balance to that I’ll put together a goofy drawing or something for each lesson. As a result of which I am now simultaneously both comfortably ahead of schedule with the lessons and also embarassingly behind. In conclusion: huh.
Anyhow, here’s the illustration for Lesson 2 (Sharing Watermelons):
Third, I am currently putting together a…
Spectacular Holiday Extravaganza!!!
Well, it’s going to be only somewhat spectacular, probably, as well as maybe merely moderately extra. And, truth be told, there might to be some minor technical problems with the vaganzaness (vaganzitude?).
So maybe let’s better call it a…
Special Holiday Thing!
At any rate, there will be daily posts from December 24 to January 1. If you’re away or offline then maybe check them out afterwards. I hope you enjoy them.
